Q: What are your ingredients?
A: We use only Mica, Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide and refined Iron Oxides.
Canary Cosmetics contains no oils, no liquids, no fragrances, no preservatives.
Q: I am sensitive to chemicals and fragrances. Can I wear Canary Cosmetics?
A: Our product was developed for chemically sensitive customers. We cannot
guarantee you won’t have a reaction, but have found that it is well-tolerated
by many chemically sensitive people. If you are unsure, we suggest ordering a
1-gram sample or a Foundation Sampler.
Q: Does Canary Cosmetics contain Bismuth Oxychloride?
A: No. Many cosmetics companies use Bismuth Oxychloride in their mineral makeup,
but we chose not to because it can irritate some people’s skin.
Q: Does Canary Cosmetics contain salicylates?
A: No. Canary Cosmetics are appropriate for people who need salicylate-free
makeup.
Q: Does Canary Cosmetics contain Sun Protection Factor?
A: In order to advertise an SPF for a product, it must be tested at an
FDA-approved laboratory, which is expensive. Because we are a small company, we
have not pursued SPF testing at this time.
Q: Do you make Canary Cosmetics yourself?
A: Yes, we decided to manufacture our own line because other mineral makeups
contained unwanted ingredients. Canary Cosmetics is different from all other
mineral makeups on the market, many of which are simply private label versions
of the same product.
Q: I normally wear XYZ shade foundation from ABC Mineral Makeup Company. Can
you help me select a similar shade in Canary Cosmetics?
A: We are sorry, but we are unable to provide individualized advice to our
customers, and we are not familiar with other companies' colors. Please consult
the color charts on each page. Your best bet is to order one of our Foundation
Samplers so you can see and feel our product for yourself. Q: Can you send
me a free sample?
A: To keep our prices as low as possible, we cannot send out free
samples. Because we are a small business, we would have to raise our prices
significantly to allow for free samples. Most of our customers would rather pay
less for their own products than subsidize free samples for others. That is why
we offer 1-gram samples for a low price and samplers for even less.
Q: What is included in the Foundation Sampler?
A: You get four 1-gram jars of selected foundations to help you choose the best
color for you.
Q: How long will it take to get my order?
A: We try to fill orders within a few days, but please allow two weeks for
delivery. Q: Can I check my order status?
A: Yes, just click "Check my order status" in the "Shopping
Cart" box at the top right corner of this page. Enter the eight-digit order
number from your invoice, and our system will display the status of your order.
Use the link on the status page to track your order via USPS. Q: I don't
like the colors I ordered. Can I return them for a refund?
A: For the same reasons we don't offer free samples, we're not able to offer
refunds unless we make a mistake. See our Terms &
Conditions page for details.
Q: Do you have a privacy policy?
A: Yes. We pride ourselves on giving our customers the purest, safest products
possible. We take this same approach with your privacy and online security. We
only collect information necessary to fill customers’ orders, and we do not
sell or share information about our customers.
Q: Is it safe to order with a
credit card on your web site?
A: We take great care to protect your credit card number from theft or fraud
a number of ways. Our secure shopping cart uses Secure Sockets Layering (SSL)
technology to encrypt your order information, including your credit card number.
We have never had a customer report being the victim of credit card fraud from
using our site. If you're still concerned, you can place your order through our
shopping cart, and then send us a money order or your credit card number
through the mail.
Q: Do you take orders by phone or fax?
A: No, we do not. The quickest way to get your order is through our web site
with a credit card. U.S. customers may also pay by money order, but you must go
through the shopping cart and indicate "mail order"
under the payment options. You must print out the receipt you receive by e-mail
and send with payment within two weeks of submitting your
order through our web site. Failure to include the receipt may result in your
money order being returned. If you pay by money order we will
ship your products as soon as the money order arrives.
